Agatha causes a big Sinkhole in Guatemala City

zaza

An aerial view of a large and deep sink hole in Guatemala city cause by the heavy rains from Tropical Storm "Agatha" last May 31.

The large crater swallowed a three-storey building factory with security guard in it (he was reported missing) and some telephone post.It was estimatedly 100 feet deep

The authority will investigate and look an it as a crime. They will also know on how many people will evacuate around the said Sink Hole.

Sinkholes are common where the rock below the land surface is limestone, carbonate rocks or salt beds or any rock which easily dissolves by circulating ground water. When the rocks dissolved and there is nothing left on foundation collapse will happen in the land surface causing a Sink Hole.
